RETIREMENT LAWS COMMITTEE TO MEET in PIERRE – The Retirement Laws Committee will hold their first meeting of the 2025 Interim, a joint meeting with the South Dakota Retirement System (SDRS) Board of Trustees, on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. (CT).
The Retirement Laws Committee is chaired by Senator Randy Deibert (R-Spearfish) with vice chair Representative Mike Weisgram (R-Fort Pierre).
Among the items that will be discussed are SDRS Financial Statements and the SDRS Financial Audit for Fiscal Year 2025; the Fiscal Year 2026 Investment Update; establishment of the cost-of living adjustment (COLA) and variable retirement account contribution rate for Fiscal Year 2027; member demographics and workforce information; the State of the System address from SDRS Executive Director Travis Almond; the Fiscal Year 2027 Governor's Recommended Budget for SDRS; and proposed legislation for the 2026 Legislative Session.
